Documents: When a Post Won't Hold It

Not everything fits in a post. Some ideas need headings, sections, a place to spread out and get organized. That's what Documents are for. This one's part of the subscription, and it's one of the two features I built mostly because I kept needing it myself.

A Real Editor, and Markdown That Actually Renders

Documents give you a full Markdown editor with a live split view: your source on one side, the rendered result on the other.

Remember how I said posts don't do Markdown? This is where it lives instead. Type ## and you get a heading. Bold, bullet lists, inline code, links, tables, all of it renders as you write. A Document is the place for the writing that earns the formatting.

Folders, Like Your Own Filesystem

One long document is fine. Fifty of them is a mess unless you can organize them. So Documents live in folders you arrange yourself, the same way you'd sort files on your computer.

Don't Start From a Blank Page

A blank page is where a lot of writing quietly goes to die. So you can start a Document from a template instead of from nothing.

You can drop images into a piece, and each Document is public or private on its own, your call, one document at a time. Nothing goes public unless you say so.

The Honest Part

Documents are a subscriber feature. They're half of the "organize serious amounts of writing" side of the product, the part that turns InterlinedList from a place you post into a place your writing actually accumulates.
