Blog

The blog is the public news and updates section of the site. If you have administrator access, you can write posts and choose when each one goes live. Everyone else sees only the finished posts on the public blog.

Post states

Every post is in one of three states, shown as a colored badge next to its title in the admin post list:

• Draft — The post is not public and has no publish time set. Only you can see it.
• Scheduled — The post has a future publish time. It stays hidden from the public blog until that time arrives.
• Published — The post is live on the public blog right now.

Writing a post

1. Go to the blog admin area.
2. In the New Post form, fill in the title, excerpt, and content.
3. Click Create Post to save it as a draft.

A saved draft stays private until you publish or schedule it.

Scheduling a post to publish later

1. Open the post in the editor.
2. Turn on the Published toggle.
3. In Publish date & time, pick a time in the future. The time you enter is your own local time.
4. Click Save Changes.

The post now shows the Scheduled badge and stays hidden from the public blog until the time you chose. At that time the post goes live automatically, usually within about a minute. Once it is live, its badge changes to Published.

You do not need to do anything else at the scheduled time. The post publishes on its own.

Publishing a post right now

You have a few ways to publish immediately:

• Turn on the Published toggle, leave Publish date & time empty (or set it to a time that has already passed), then click Save Changes.
• Or click the Publish button on a post to make it live at once.

Unpublishing a post

Turn off the Published toggle and save, or click Unpublish on a live post. The post comes off the public blog and returns to Draft. Unpublishing also cancels any schedule, so a post you take down will not come back on its own. To put it back, publish it again or set a new publish time.
