Every so often a band drops a track that politely asks for your attention. This isn't one of those. This one grabs you by the collar, drags you into the pit, and reminds you that "volume knob" is merely a suggestion. Give it a spin. If your speakers survive, buy them a beer. https://youtu.be/-EiIwpw_a14?si=Rv8cAQvCMK4SmoFO
Some songs—they drag every scar, every victory, and every ounce of stubbornness right back to the surface. 🤘🖤 This one has that perfect mix of crushing riffs, soaring melodies, and enough emotion to remind you why metal never leaves your soul. Headphones on. Volume up. Repeat until the neighbors complain. #Metalhead #NowPlaying #WomenInMetal #HeavyMetal Meter's song "Dreaming" https://youtu.be/QWdvDN-u9Xw?si=9bdmmdEcr7JCMSdF
Some bands just show up. Others kick the door off the hinges, set the bureaucracy on fire, and remind you why your neck still works after all these years. This one lands squarely in the second category. 🤘 Crank it louder than your neighbors think is reasonable and enjoy. https://youtu.be/mSULNvTezK4?si=kEsLSlzp-pEIYEcf
Wrote up a new post. It's not loop engineered, and 98% of it is bespoke, hand written, human conjured, tailored, artisanal, for your human consumption dear reader! "Loop Engineering Is Mostly Just Broken SDLC Wearing a Costume". Also yes, I wrote the em dashes in there — — — — — !! https://compositecode.blog/2026/07/15/loop-engineering-is-mostly-just-broken-sdlc-wearing-a-costume/

Got a productivity tool you use? What's your go to?
Just putting this out there. JS rendered docs aren't a good thing. Make the docs a clean static element that can be searched and indexed appropriately by both our fellow human cohort, existing search engines, AND LLMs. Otherwise you're just burying your presence in a significant way.

Speaking of local models. Gotta get some more running!
When do local models become viable threats to the frontier models? Maybe they are already? 🤷🏼♂️
Got up today and felt like I'd had my engine of introspection kicked into over-drive. Now sitting, looking out the open windows at Uptown Espresso in Belltown pondering where I've been in life, the wild adventures, the adventures yet to come. I have to sit down with that introspection every once in a while and really get centered around what the hell has even happened to me. Figure out what I've shaped and achieved in life and figure out where I am - literally and figuratively - then persevere.
"China is About to Pop the AI Bubble" is very much worth a watch. Listen closely, there are some very good observations here. I'd argue, along with this video, that China is indeed likely to pop that bubble for national interest as much as any other reason to contribute to "AI". https://youtu.be/siazPdsZHuI?si=iRs5fBremjpdX8Y4
OH "Basically having Not-Windows Machine vs. a Windows Machine is like having a back hoe vs. a hand shovel to dig a backyard pool. One is going to take you an evening to get it dug out while the other is going to take you a month to get that shit done!"
Just days away from having the actual iOS, Mac OS, Windows, Linux, and Android native apps available!
Seeing the gazillion humans walking, biking, and transiting with no real impact to automobile related delays (there are some, but it’s been EXTREMELY minimal) shows how much better things could get in seattle with the active and transit focused emphasis the city has been on for a couple decades or so now. It could be this epic, this great ALL THE TIME as long as we continue to minimize the least efficient mode (SOVs) and focus where the city actually gets ROI (transit/trains/bikes/pedestrian/human scale and human spaces). Fingers crossed Seattle stays on this path! 💯
This is the time of year I always love in Seattle (Portland, Vancouver/Vancouver BC)... it's overcast, not hot, but absolute summer vibes! It's a reasonable 70-73 outside and it stays this way for several consecutive weeks - usually - right before the 4th weekend and then later when it's falling into fall. They are the most epic of weeks - for me - as I love the "can wear a hoodie" or "maybe just a t-shirt" type of weather. But also the heat isn't here yet and the cold cold is gone. Just loving it right now, hope y'all are having a good go of it these days.
Amazon's phone line is insanely unacceptable as a support medium. I was told to call back at a time for scheduling a return pick up. I'm on minute 30+ dealing with their incompetent "voice assistant". Where's the AI? The models are a decade past this antiquated nonsense. A perfect example where AI systems SHOULD be in place already and they're not in place. Meanwhile I've got AI bots calling me about things I don't even remotely have a connection to. It's mind boggling how the enshittification of the Internet has basically made commerce worse than it was just a mere few years ago, and that was arguably worse than the 00s.
